Going the way of traditional Karatedo, the student is confronted with his own weaknesses and he learns to overcome them. Karatedo becomes a process of self-discovery. Step by step the reaction, respiration and posture improve. Self-discipline and concentration increase, self-confidence grows.
Practicing constantly makes strong, mentally and physically. A strong person has no longer to fight against others, he does not need to prove anything. So, traditional karatedo is a way to a balanced and peaceful mind. A karateka should have the hand of a devil and the heart of a Buddha.
The path of traditional Karatedo is characterized by constant practice, because karate-do is a way of experience, not of intellect. Through precise and constant repetition of the exercises, the karateka trains his mind and will. In approaching an ideal, the student learns to be patient with himself and thus with others. It is important to keep in mind that budo does not teach being, but becoming.
